SUPERMAN'S OTHER SKIRT

Back in 1983, Christopher Reeve was the man in Hollywood I wanted to shag more than anyone with two legs and a high school diploma. But this post is not about Chris. It's about Annette O'Toole, who played Clark Kent's abandoned high-school sweetheart, Lana Lang, the old-school flame to Lois Lane's new-school. She portrayed Lana in 1983's Superman III, which wasn't a very good movie, but which gave us more Christopher Reeve.

These days, Annette, now 50 and still red-head ravishing, plays Ma Kent to Tom Welling's adolescent Clark Kent on TV's Smallville. I ran into Annette at the airport earlier in the summer, while we were delayed enroute to LA. She is very short and very small, which just goes to show you what a gigantic movie screen does for the way people perceive you. She was nice enough to give me some ink.
